Xiaoxuan David Sun

Dr Xiaoxuan David Sun is the Managing Director of Miracle Iron Holding Pty Ltd, a position he has held since October 2024. Previously, he was the Managing Director of Sinosteel Australia from 2013 to 2023. In 2019, following a corporate restructure within Sinosteel, Dr Sun was appointed Managing Director of all Sinosteel’s Australian entities, including Sinosteel Midwest Corporation Ltd and Sinosteel Uranium SA Pty Ltd.

Over more than a decade leading Sinosteel in Australia, Dr Sun oversaw several iron ore projects, including the Channar Mining Joint Venture, Midwest Jack Hills Project, Blue Hills Project, Weld Range Project and OPR Project.

Dr Sun commenced his career in China with Sinosteel Corporation before relocating to Australia in 2006. From 2013 to 2024, he represented the China Chamber of Commerce in Australia (CCCA) in Western Australia as Vice President of CCCA and President of CCCA Perth Branch.  Since October 2024, he has been the Honorary President of CCCA Perth Branch.

Dr Sun holds a Bachelor of Economics from Nanjing University of Science and Technology, a Master of Management from Tianjin University of Commerce and a PhD in Economics from the China Academy of Social Sciences. He is a Fellow of AusIMM and was an Advisory Council member of the Curtin Business School from 2014 to 2023.
